The Raggedy Folk Players
Ant runs folk music workshops for adult learners of any folk/acoustic instrument. The sessions take place on a Thursday night (and occasionally other nights) in Bristol. Players enjoy the experience of learning folk tunes from around the world – including Celtic, Klezmer, American, Australasian, Indian & African – and mixing it up with a friendly bunch of people.
At the end of a ‘term’ of workshops, the group plays all the material they have learnt to a friendly pub crowd at a local venue. It is a wonderful feeling to play to an appreciative audience and these events – which have previously taken place at the Adam & Eve in Hotwells in October 2013; the Lansdown Local Ale Festival in April 2014; the Famous Royal Navy Volunteer in August 2014 & February 2015; The George Inn in October 2014; The Green Man, Bristol in December 2014 & May 2015; and the Port of Call in July 2015 – are a great success;
If you are interested in joining the Raggedy Folk Players please email Ant at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or come along to the workshops. Each evening costs £10 per person and lasts 90 minutes.
